Balance for Better - International Women's day afternoon tea
International Women's Day has been made special by celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, as we pay tribute to the female power shaping our society today. This year the theme is "balance for better". Balance drives a better working world. The role of female leaders in organizations are increasing significant.

On 8th March, we wish to host a ladies-only Afternoon tea session at Manchester Cloud to celebrate this day with the aspiring group of ladies from our alumni, students and prospective students. Along with China Centre Director Ms. Sherry Fu, we have invited Mr. Rick Xu, experienced Energy Management Trainer to share on this subject with attending ladies. Ms. Sophie Xu, Manchester Global MBA current student will also join to share her experience and thoughts on leading a balanced life as a successful female professional.

Energy Management Trainer, Zenith Advisory
Having had experience with MNE across continents, Rick has worked in the United States, Singapore, Hong Kong and the mainlands for over 20 years in senior management positions. From 2012, Rick has shifted his focus to the research, communication and practice of energy Management. Being an advocate of the subject, his work in the field has brought to participants great drive for change, positive influence on way of thinking and behaviour. His tailored courses leads to win-win solution to both the employer and staff that Rick has worked with.

Ms. Sherry Fu
Director, The University of Manchester China Centre
Sherry is the founding director of Alliance Manchester Business School’s China Centre (established in 2008 in Shanghai) which was renamed to the University of Manchester China Centre in September 2016. She manages China business development, alumni relations and strategic partnerships in the region, leading China team developed the Centre to the 2nd largest overseas Centre and building an outstanding brand image and reputation for AMBS and UoM which has been recognized in several China’s top national awards. Sherry was appointed as an envoy to the City of Manchester in 2013 at the house of Lords and awarded ”Pilot of Chinese business education’ in 2016 by China State Council information office.

Ms. Sophie Xu Consulting Manager, SAP
Sophie is an experienced management consulting professional with strong expertise in leadership, Project Management, Business Process Re-engineering, and Change Management. Her current and prior experience wit leading management consulting firms has allowed her exposure to face the complex business world and deal to high-demanding tasks. Soon graduating from Manchester Global MBA, Sophie will also share experience and insights through her MBA jouney.
