More and more female educators are using their wisdom to contribute to international education. As the birth land of women rights protection movement and a world’s leading university of social responsibility, the University of Manchester is also ushering in women leadership.

In 2010, Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell became the first female principal in the history of our school. She is currently the first female chairperson of the Russell Group in the UK, creating many precedents in female leadership. Professor Fiona Devine, Dean of Alliance Manchester Business School, is also an outstanding woman. At the same time, the Manchester Museum is also having its first female curator Professor Esme Ward in 2018. These great examples all encouraged us of unlimited possibilities of women power.

Ms. Fu elaborated women power by sharing her 13 years’ of experience in establishing UoM China Centre from 1 person and 1 desk to the University’s largest overseas center with more than 2,000 students and graduates as well as four part-time master courses. “The best is like water”, an ancient Chinese saying quoted by Sherry, to remark the sparkles of women power: courage, perseverance, modesty and the nature of care.
