UoM China Centre Won Tencent Business School Awards

On 10th Nov. 2022, the 10th Tencent Business School Development Forum was successfully held. Under the new norm of the post-pandemic era, the forum was held in a blended format, gathering experts and scholars in the field of business education to explore the future of business education in China.

Ms. Sherry Fu, Founding Director, The University of Manchester China Centre was invited to present at the forum and received the “China Business Education Role Model Award of 2022”. The University of Manchester China Centre has won the “China Business Education Benchmark Award of 2022”.

Ms. Sherry Fu was invited as the speaker at the online panel discussion to share her insights into the sustainable development of business education in the post-pandemic era. She also shared her experience at the University of Manchester.


When it comes to the challenges and opportunities in the future, Ms. Fu pointed out:" Business school should be the pioneer in the university to adopt the ever-changing global trends and embrace the challenges. Business schools at home and abroad should cultivate more business elites to comply with the latest global business trends. Facing the ever-changing global environment, business schools should take proactive measures, and establish partnerships and collaboration. We should work with partners and collaborators across various disciplines to help deliver a brighter and more sustainable world for future generations.”

Sherry also mentioned that as a globally leading institution in online / blended-learning, The University of Manchester pioneered a blended teaching and learning format more than 20 years ago, aiming to open up opportunities for providing a Manchester education to many more people across the globe with online and blended modes of delivery. Since the establishment of UoM China Centre, we are proud to witness over 2,000 working professionals in the region achieved career transformation through the education opportunity from the University.”

Also, she introduced the comprehensive upgrading of China Centre’s facilities during the pandemic, which enables the students in China to maximise the use of the University’s learning resources and ensures top-quality teaching through world-class digital equipment.
