On 14th October, 2022, the 5th Annual Linked-F Finance Elite Summit (FES) was held at JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai at Tomorrow Square and also streamed live online. The University of Manchester China Centre was invited as an academic support partner to help financial elites lead changes and promote industry development.

The summit attracted nearly 200 financial elites and leaders from various industries to have a heated discussion on the theme of " Deconstructing Change, Enlightening Future". The discussion focused on new trends in business and technology, and explored the integration of organization, technology, and talents in an uncertain business environment.

Ms. Sherry Fu, Director of the University of Manchester China Centre, hosted and participated in the roundtable forum entitled "Business Thinking + Financial Acumen Help Build a Business Management Think Tank" at the meeting. At the same time, the guests participating in this roundtable discussion include Mr. Zheng Tan, Vice President of JCET Group, Ms. Jun Qi, Chief Financial Officer of Bloks Group, Ms. Weibing Liu, Chief Financial Officer of an international freight company in China, and Mr. Xiaowei Shao, Senior Consultant at CCH Tagetik China of Wolters Kluwer Group. Ms. Fu and the guests discussed a series of thought-provoking questions such as the essential qualities of "well-rounded financial professionals", how to quickly enter an unfamiliar field, how to develop business thinking, and what the future CFO should be like. She specifically mentioned that financial professionals should not only improve their financial acumen, but also understand the business logic and thinking of the entire enterprise development in order to provide constructive suggestions and escort the development of enterprises, through continuous thinking and learning.

As a British university that takes social responsibility as its core strategic goal, the University of Manchester also undertakes its mission in the field of professional talent training, and began its global deployment many years ago. It not only established five global centres, but also pioneered the online and blended learning model, and paid great attention to the application of practical business cases in the course. At the same time, the Manchester Global MBA provided an accelerated pathway specially designed for financial professionals with certain credentials, aiming to help these professionals acquire management knowledge and experience in the most flexible and effective way.
