Director's Message

It is heartening to know that we can continue to build meaningful connections and pursue our shared mission of promoting social responsibility and sustainable development, as we head towards 2023. Happily seeing that our global communication is finally resuming after a long pause, we at the University of Manchester China Centre strive to carry on our mission of providing quality education and promoting sustainable development in the region.

This year, we will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the China Centre, along with the coming bicentennial anniversary of the University. We have planned a series of industrial sharing, alumni events, ESG Campaign, and an annual gala to commemorate these special occasions. We are also thrilled to announce that our University President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, will be visiting China in September. This will be an excellent opportunity for us to strengthen our ties with our partners in China and explore new opportunities for collaboration.

China Centre continues to lead educational communication between China and the UK. Aligned with the University of Manchester's flexible learning strategy, we are piloting practical courses this year to provide more accessible learning opportunities from UoM to the community in China, aiming at equipping our students with the tools and competencies necessary to make a positive impact in their respective fields. We have also launched the UoM China Educator Club, providing our students a platform for experience sharing, networking and lifetime learning.

In closing, we would like to extend our warmest good wishes to you. We are grateful for your continued support in our endeavors, and we look forward to strengthening our partnership in the years to come.

Sherry Fu,
