Psychometrics and Personal Development
On 23rd April, 2013, Manchester Business School China Centre held a career event for 30 MBS Global MBA students and alumni, the Topic of the event is psychometrics and personal development. Mr. Nigel Banister, Chief Global Officer of Manchester Business School and Sherry Fu, Director of Manchester Business School China Centre pesented the event.
 
Mr.Nigel Banister gave a keynote speech, he introduced to the audience that MBS provide online and offline Global Career Service for Global MBA Students. The service emphasizes a career journey: self-evaluation, industry and career research, Career matching, Jobs opportunity, self-marketing, Job hunting strategy, offer and negotiation. This event focused on the first, yet the most important step, which is self-evaluation. He encourages students to make good use of these resources and wish them a greater success during their career journey.
 
Mr. Alex Wu, Partner of Talent Q Consulting then gave a coaching lecture to the audience, Mr. Alex Wu has many years of experience of psychometrics and career development coaching and consulting, he has work experience in many well-known companies such as Alibaba. Alext firstly introduced the basic knowledge about psychometrics, and then gave the audience a test example, everyone needed to finish a test paper. Then based on the test result, Alex analyse the meaning and implication of each metrics and introduced different relation and requirement of different job positions.

During and after Alex speech, students and alumni asked lots of questions; Alex answered all the questions with detail suggestions.

Self-evaluation is the most important step of career development, based on self-understanding, further efforts or progress can be made to make full use of advantages and improve weakness, and hence achieve greater progress of personal career.

Sherry Fu, Director of MBS China Centre introduced to the audience that in addition to event coaching, Manchester Business School will also provide group coaching, networking events, career seminar, alumni speaking and online service portal to all Global MBA students.
