International Business Strategy Taster
On 2nd September, Professor Stefan Zagelmeyer has delivered a tremendous successful workshop taster at MBS China Centre which attracted more than 40 Global part-time MBA prospective students.

At the workshop taster, Stefan explained in great detail the MBS workshop structure, summary of his lecture content and emphasized importance of case studies which reflects the Manchester Method “Learning by Doing”. Stefan said, in his workshop, he always tries to encourage his students to think, not only “why” but also “why not”. A few case study examples were given at the workshop taster. Since his course is International Business Strategy, Stefan is keen to train the students to become International Managers, to put themselves really into the case study situation, and think what they would do if they were the decision maker in that case, how to apply original thinking, how to be innovative and think outside the box. Stefan mentioned many big companies failed in their overseas business because the Manager just assumed what works in their country would work all over the world. To be an International Manager, the student must have an International Mind.

Stefan really enjoys teaching at Manchester Business School as he finds the MBS students are all very talented, he is always fascinated and inspired by ideas came up from his students. Stefan is the reader of Comparative and International Business in Manchester Business School; previously he worked as Lecturer in Human Resource Management in University of Manchester.

After the workshop taster, Sophia Guo, the newly promoted Recruitment and Admission Manager introduced the MBS Global part-time MBA programme with great passion, follows by interactive questions from audience.
