Dialogue with Course Director: The changing landscape of globalising education

 

At The University of Manchester we believe educators are powerful influencers and have important voices in a rapidly globalising world. It is our intention to empower educational leaders to face tough challenges in globalising educational spaces with compassion and competency.

 

On the evening of the 16th JuneDr. Alexander Gardner-McTaggart, Course Director of MA Educational Leadership in Practice, will e-meet specialists and professionals from the education sector in Asia by hosting a Masterclass webinar with the spotlight on the changing landscape of globalising education and a focus upon the monumental changes of demographics and wealth income, and how this is shaping a new path in education.

This talk will have an international focus and will address the need for practitioners to better understand and critically engage with theory and leadership practices.

Manchester Institute of Education at The University of Manchester is now providing a blended-learning, part-time Master in Educational Leadership in Practice course, for a global rollout. This part-time, flexible course will soon be recruiting the 1st Asia cohort for February 2021 intake.

Alex will also give an overview of the online, part-time MA in Educational Leadership in Practice.

 MA Educational Leadership in Practice Course Director: Dr. Alexander Gardner-Mctaggart

 

Alex is the course director for the University of Manchester Masters in Educational Leadership in Practice, and a lecturer in educational leadership at the University of Manchester having joined as senior lecturer in leadership from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS). He has taught and researched internationally since 1995, and his research seeks to better understand globalising pressures on education and its leadership through the lens of equity, distinction and power.
Alex is a convener of the International and Comparative Education Special Interest Group (SIG) of the British Educational Research Association (BERA) and is an active member of the British Educational Leadership Management and Administration Society (BELMAS) and its Critical Education Policy (CEP) research interest group.
