The diversified global healthcare industry is confronting numerous challenges and opportunities, such as that digital healthcare technology is taking effort to replace the conventional ways of practice; commercial healthcare insurance might play fundamental roles in new healthcare market; healthcare reform is taking place in China.
We are bringing in UoM's strength in healthcare to prospective students in China. On Tuesday 8th Jan, Dr. Stephen Brookes, Senior Fellow Public Policy and Leadership together with experts in Chinese healthcare industry will share their insights into those challenges and opportunities, and inspire you on how to develop and leverage leadership skills to thrive in the future.
The University of Manchester has traditionally been working alongside the NHS delivering healthcare leadership development programmes for over 50 years; and in the recent near decade, assisting a growing number of international students from healthcare management, practice, technology as well as investment on a full-time Healthcare Management Master.

Speaker: Dr Stephen Brookes,QPM, Senior Fellow Public Policy and Leadership at University of Manchester Programme Director, MSc International Healthcare Leadership
Stephen has a unique blend of leadership experience and academic expertise in the areas of leadership, performance management, and organizational development. He combines these experiences in his current role of teaching, research and executive education across a range of disciplines and sectors including international healthcare, policing and negotiation skills. Stephen is the author of "The Selfless Leader", published in 2016 and also has co-edited books concerning Public Leadership and Trust and Confidence in Public Services. Stephen is the Programme Director of the new MSc International Healthcare Leadership at the University of Manchester (Alliance Manchester Business School).

Dr. Jian Li, Founder of UoM China Centre AI and Big Data Club. Jian has a proven track record in health and life science giants (Philips/Siemens/Medtronic) and his role covers solution incubation, strategic marketing, new product development, P&L management and open innovation, etc. Jian graduated from Peking University with a PhD degree and he also holds a MBA degree from Alliance Manchester Business School. In Intel, his team currently focuses on driving innovative
Healthcare computing solutions and wide ecosystem collaboration, which mainly falls into genomics medicine, cloud computing, biomedical bigdata analytics, HPC and artificial intelligence, etc.

GM Shanghai Concord Medical Cancer Center
Vice-General Manager of Shanghai Concord Hospital
Ms. Ni Yang serves as the General Manager of Shanghai Concord Medical Cancer Center and Vice-general Manager of Shanghai Concord Hospital since February 2017. She is also the General Manager of Risk Control and Legal Department of Concord Medical Services Holdings Limited (CCM). Prior to joining CCM, Ms Ni Yang served as the Licensed Chinese lawyer of Shanghai Ganus Law Offices from 2009 to 2011. Ms. Ni Yang received her bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Fudan University in 2006 and received her Master degree in Law from Peking University in 2009.

Sherry is the founding director of Alliance Manchester Business School’s China Centre (established in 2008 in Shanghai) which was renamed to the University of Manchester China Centre in September 2016. She manages China business development, alumni relations and strategic partnerships in the region, leading China team developed the Centre to the 2nd largest overseas Centre and building an outstanding brand image and reputation for AMBS and UoM which has been recognized in several China’s top national awards. Sherry was appointed as an envoy to the City of Manchester in 2013 at the house of Lords and awarded ”Pilot of Chinese business education’ in 2016 by China State Council information office.
