The rivals among fashion retailing are increasingly intense in recent years. Meanwhile, there are urgent management needs in marketing activities, market expense control, inventory management and BD management. Retailing companies are taking more social responsibility than ever under the pressure of climate change and environmental concerns.

On 15th October, MSc International Fashion Marketing Course Leader Dr. Patsy Perry, University of Manchester DBA student Ms. Catherine Zhao and UoM PhD graduate in fashion management Dr. Cherie Chen are presenting speeches at MCloud. As an expert in the industry, Dr. Patsy will share the environmental and social impacts of fashion and the importance of sustainability in fashion industry. Ms. Zhao will then share her study experience in UoM as well as her industrial experience about how to integrate marketing, branding, channel development and team building to achieve a better retailing performance. Dr. Cherie Chen will share her experience as a fashion buyer as well as the latest fashion trends.

Speaker: Dr. Patsy Perry, Course Leader in MSc International Fashion Marketing
Dr. Patsy Perry is Senior Lecturer in Fashion Marketing in the School of Materials and teaches on a number of units on the fashion business programmes relating to fashion marketing, e-commerce, supply chain management and sustainability. She has nearly 10 years research experience in fashion industry. Her expertise includes the environmental and social impacts of fashion and her work has been published in academic journals and books. She has appeared on BBC Breakfast, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Newsbeat, and been featured in The Telegraph, The Independent and The Observer amongst others.

Speaker: Catherine Zhao, Country Manager at Mammut CHINA
With nearly 20 years cross-industry working experience, Catherine is an expert in project and event marking, outdoor product sales, branding, BD and senior management. Currently, she is working as a country manager at Mammut China and responsible for the overall management of branding, merchandising, finance, operation, and human resources. She is also active and experienced in public speeches and sharing. Catherine has been to almost 30 countries across the globe and in love with sports and music. She used to win a championship in swimming nationwide.

Speaker: Dr. Cherie Chen, Founder & Director of Project Crossover Ltd
Dr. Cherie has nearly 15 years of cross-border experience in the fashion industry. She obtained her PhD at the age of 26. During her study at Manchester, she was an assistant teaching teacher at the University of Manchester, where she has published several academic papers in major international journals. She has worked for Gazelle Sports in the UK, The European division of the Lifeng Group, and Meters Bonwe. Then she established her own company Project Crossover in London where she actively develops domestic and international fashion brand cooperation projects as well as promoting the international fashion brands into Chinese market.
